20-30% of the total energy requirement is covered by the system. This makes it the most powerful system in the entire Osnabrück district. For Bohnenkamp AG, the investment time was particularly important. The investment of €700,000 was amortised after only eight years.
Project report
The service life is planned for 30 years. Increasing energy costs and power demands make the system very profitable. Bohnenkamp AG wants to cover up to 40% of its energy consumption independently with a second system. This is already being planned. When in operation the system will save 350 tonnes of CO2 annually, which is equal to 80 tonnes of hard coal or 70,000 litres of heating oil.

The new system requires a total surface area of approximately 10,000 m² on the roofs of the Bohnenkamp logistics halls, newly built in the last few years. The system, which has a total weight of around 150 tonnes, was already taken into account during the construction of the halls. It should generate about 700,000 kWh annually. That would be sufficient, for example, to provide electricity to 200 four-person households for a year or to power 190 electric cars with a mileage of 20,000 km per year for a year.
