Revolutionary design through evolution
Click technology

Safe and simple technology

The PV mounting system flat roof east-west is easy to install thanks to interchange-proof click connections. No measurement is necessary. All you need as tools is a tape measure, a striking line and a torque wrench.
Tested and safe

Lightning current carrying capacity

Our flat roof systems are inherently capable of carrying lightning currents and can therefore be integrated into the lightning protection concept of the building. The lightning current carrying capacity of the east-west substructure has been verified in accordance with DIN EN 62561 (VDE 0185-561-1):2013-02.
Certification

Safety first

We have received the general building authority approval with the approval number Z-14.4-790 for our aerodynamic flat roof system PMT Evolution and the further development PMT EVO 2.0. We regularly test and verify our PV east-west substructure in wind tunnel tests, experimental component tests and on the basis of current DIN standards. Additional optional components such as ridge couplings and Solmont connections increase the safety factor.
Module independence

Variable dimensions possible

In principle, our photovoltaic fasteners are suitable for all standard modules on the market. PMT EVO 2.0 covers module widths from 980 to 1,300 mm and module lengths between 1,550 and 2,400 mm.
Ballasting

Standardized ballast blocks

Thanks to the standardized ballast stones, our east-west substructure can be planned and installed quickly and easily. The 15 kg stones are already integrated into PMT-Plan . Our mounting systems also have a significantly lower ballast requirement compared to other substructures.
Perfect support

Adapts to the surface

The continuous floor rail has already integrated the protective mat and thus ensures a defined contact with the substrate and a high contact surface. In this way, the roof remains undamaged under the flat roof east-west mounting system.
Simple cable routing

Invisible integration in the system

Thanks to the integrated cover of the east-west substructure, the individual cables are no longer visible. The system includes a triple edge clip holder for fixing. Depending on the requirements of the system, separation distances of more than 150 mm can be maintained. The cables can be laid separately according to DC +/-.
Universal module and ballast clamp

Aiming high

Regardless of which modules you use with the PMT east-west substructure, our universal fastening covers clamping ranges between 30 and 50 mm.
Risk of falling averted

Safe on the rope

Using an optionally available circumferential safety device, the installation of the flat roof east-west mounting system can be carried out without the risk of falling. A person of 100 kg can be secured on the rope.
Accessories from PMT

The optimal supplement

Depending on your requirements, we can offer our tried-and-tested accessories for our east-west substructure. Whether longitudinal and transverse ridge coupling, route connection, mechanical attachment points, side covers, ballast trays, fall protection or trapezoidal sheet metal adapters – we have the right extra to meet the requirements of your project.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Up to what module size can you build with PMT EVO 2.0 EW?

In principle, all standard modules on the market can be planned with PMT EVO 2.0. Our substructure covers module widths from 980 to 1,300 mm and module lengths between 1,550 and 2,400 mm.

Why can PMT EVO 2.0 be installed faster than other mounting systems?

Thanks to the click connections, our east-west substructure can be installed very quickly. In the basic system, there are almost no screw connections, which would take more time to install. In addition, only a tape measure, a striking line and a torque wrench are required as tools.

Do the components of the east-west substructure have to be bolted together?

No screw connections are required for the standard components of PMT EVO 2.0. The Base and Tower components already provide sufficient stability for the substructure thanks to secure click connections. Cross and ballast struts, middle and end clamps and accessories have screw connections.

Is lightning current carrying capacity ensured?

Our flat roof east-west mounting system is inherently capable of carrying lightning currents and can therefore be integrated into the lightning protection concept of the building. The modules themselves are not capable of carrying lightning currents, which is why a separate connection must be made. This can be done using the standard crossbars or the standard lightning protection material according to the specifications of the lightning protection builder. The integration of the substructure as well as the connection between the module blocks of the photovoltaic east-west flat roof must be specified by the lightning protection builder.

What are the specifications for equipotential bonding with PMT EVO 2.0 EW?

Can I build over a change of inclination without additional modules?

Up to a roof pitch of 1.5°, you do not need any additional components for our east-west mounting system. It is important that the transition from the base component to the connecting floor profile runs exactly above the high point and can act as a joint. If the roof pitch is more than 1.5°, the change in inclination must be covered with the ridge connector.

Can I plan without Solmont?

The PMT EVO 2.0 can be used on almost all roof coverings (up to 5° pitch) without penetrating the roof. We recommend always working with ridge couplings where possible. However, there are a few systems with a roof pitch of 2.0° and above that exhibit thermally induced movement effects and a much larger number of systems, some with higher pitches, that do not exhibit this effect. For this reason, we have decided to follow the advice of the German Solar Industry Association and recommend connection from a roof pitch of 1.0°.

Can I also extend PMT EVO 2.0 EW in one direction?

It is possible to add a single module at the end of the row or in the field in the direction of the module. However, this single east or west module requires a special rear wall and a special EW main floor profile in order to be able to place the rear wall tower accordingly. This is special material that must be requested separately and is therefore more time-consuming and costly to purchase.

Why do I need more ballast for smaller roofs than for a larger one?

In general, each building must be considered separately. Even the basic geometry (length, width, height ratio) of buildings influences the required ballast, as the zoning of the roof behaves differently depending on the basic geometry. In addition to the height of the building and the pitch of the roof, parameters such as the terrain category (proximity to larger bodies of water) also play a role.

What ballast stones are needed?

In principle, our flat roof systems can be secured with all standard ballast stones. However, it should be noted that our PMT-Plan software automatically calculates with the standard dimensions of 40 x 40 x 4 cm with 15 kg. Some of the components such as side covers, ballast center and end clamps are also adapted to this size and work with these ballast blocks without restrictions. Please note that ballast blocks that deviate from the dimensions can only be attached to the substructure with additional ballast struts, for example. Ballast blocks that are too small may not be able to be placed on the ballast struts.

If you would like the ballast blocks to be adapted, we would ask you to indicate this when sending us the project details, as this will be included in the planning accordingly. From a planning perspective, we can store our planning software with any stone weight and the corresponding dimensions.

How much ballast stones do I have to put where?

The quantity and locations of the ballast stones to be deposited are calculated by our planning software and output with the ballast plan. The sheer number and the matching colour code must be taken into account. The values V and A indicated in the background can be neglected. A ballast stone is provided as standard with the dimensions 40 x 40 x 4 cm and 15 kg. If a different ballast stone is used, please let us know before planning the project in order to calculate the ballast correctly.

Does a change in the ballast blocks have an effect on the statics?

Yes, changing ballast blocks often has an impact on the statics, as the overall load on the roof can both decrease and increase.

Example: To ballast an area, 17 kg are required. If a 15 kg stone is stored in the planning, two stones (i.e. a total of 30 kg) are issued for this area when the paper is issued. If a stone weighing 17 kg is deposited in the calculation, only one stone is returned for this area.

Are ballast clamps mandatory?

Since wind, snow or maintenance work can cause the ballast stones to slip off the main floor profiles, we recommend securing them in the vulnerable edge and corner areas. This should generally be agreed with the building owner. Since the stability of the PV east-west substructure can only be maintained with appropriately positioned bricks, the positioning of the ballast blocks must be checked during each maintenance.

Does a change in the connecting floor profile affect the ballast?

There are no noticeable changes between 60 mm to 200 mm or 300 mm. However, when using special connectors with 500 mm, the ballast increases. Important: If the module fields of 20.0 x 20.0 m are exceeded, they would have to be readjusted. This means a change in the ballast.

Are there special roof membranes on which PMT EVO 2.0 cannot be installed?

In principle, our flat roof systems can be installed on any insulation and on PVC, FPO/TPO, bitumen, concrete and gravel. It is also possible to use the substructure on green roofs. To ensure that the maximum compressive strength of the insulation is not exceeded, a verification by PMT is required.

In special cases, the EVO systems can also be used on trapezoidal sheet metal. However, we would ask you to contact your PMT sales representative in advance to check the feasibility in advance.

Can the PMT EVO 2.0 EW be installed on green roofs?

Yes, we distinguish between three variants:

  • Standard substructure on roof not yet greened and greening
  • Standard substructure on green roof with normal ballasting
  • Raised variant in which the substructure is screwed onto ballast stones (Multi-Monti)

Why does PMT EVO 2.0 EW cost significantly less than the South system?

The price difference per module is due to the material used. The building material used for the PMT EVO 2.0 S variant is 1.5 to 1.7 times higher than for the east-west substructure.

Is it possible to attach the system to a rope protection?

In general, it is not permitted to attach objects to an existing rope protection. This cannot withstand the static loads of the system and is designed solely for the safety of the fitters. We offer special mechanical attachment points for the system, which can be planned via the software.
